Party Rentals

Host your next celebration at Cayton Children's Museum! Located steps from the Pacific Ocean, the Cayton offers 21,000 square feet of play space with hands-on exhibits, private party rooms, art studios, and a spacious theater—all in the center of retail and hospitality at Santa Monica Place.

Please note that Premium Room Rentals and Catering Packages cannot be booked with less than two weeks’ notice. 

THE DETAILS

The Details

We understand that every celebration is unique. That’s why you can choose from three party packages and a number of add-on services to create the party that’s best for your family! 

Parties can be held from 9am-11am, 12pm-2pm, or 3pm-5pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

Party Packages

Basic Room Rental ($750)

  • Use of either the Brilliant Blue Room or Orange You Glad Room for 2 hours

  • Full-day admission for up to 40 party guests (including your family!)

  • 3 Kid Tables with 24 kid-sized chairs, 2 Adult Tables with 14 adult-sized chairs, two present tables, and one dessert table

  • Ice water and cups provided

Premium Room Rental ($999)

  • Everything from the Basic Room Rental Package

  • Tablecloths, napkins, and utensils provided in your choice of colors

  • 1 Designated staff member to help you throughout your party

Catering Package ($1200)

  • Everything from the Premium Room Rental Package

  • Choice of:

    • 5 XL Pizzas and your choice of salad
      OR

    • 1 Tray Chicken Tenders, 1 tray Mac n’Cheese, 1 Fruit Salad, and 1 Platter of 20 sandwiches (Turkey & Cheese, PB&J, or Cheddar Cheese)

Add Ons

  • Tableware Package – Flatware, napkins, and tablecloths provided in your choice of colors (feel free to mix and match!) - $100 

  • 1 Designated Staff Member (can help with set-up, clean-up, replenishing supplies, making announcements) - $125 

  • Honest Juice (32 juice boxes) - comes with a serving bowl and ice - $25 

Ex: If you want everything in the Premium Package but you’re bringing your own themed tablecloths and napkins, you can book a Basic Room Rental and add a dedicated staff member!

 

Or If you like the idea of our Catering Package, but you want pepperoni pizzas instead of cheese, book a Premium Package and add a vendor order – we'll build the custom pizza menu of your dreams! 

  • La Croix (24 cans) – comes with a serving bowl and ice - $15 

  • Serving Bowl + Ice - $5 

  • Cake Serving Supplies (knife, cutting board, cake server, gloves) - $15 

Gift Bags

Want to hand out goodie bags to your guests? Our Store Manager can have them ready when you arrive! Choose from our options below: 

You’ll need to give at least two weeks’ notice before placing an order for goodie bags. Note that pricing is per child. 

Vendor Orders

Vendor orders can be added to any party package! You can reach out to any of our preferred vendors (see list below) and place the order yourself, or we can coordinate for you for an added cost of 20% of the total! If you plan on placing the order yourself, just let us know so we can anticipate your vendor’s arrival on the day of your event. 

Any orders placed with vendors (fast food delivery services, restaurants, catering services, entertainment providers, etc) outside of this list will incur a $175 outside vendor fee. We’ll also need a Certificate of Insurance from those vendors to ensure that your guests stay safe on our premises.

Your Party Rooms 

The room will be set up with tables, chairs, and any add-ons you booked when you arrive! If you’d like to make any changes to the layout, just let us know! 
 

Each room comes with admission for 40 guests. Your family counts towards that total, but babies under 12 months do not. If more than 40 guests come, we’ll add a charge of $25/person to your final invoice. The max per room is 65 – if more come, you’ll need to add the second room to your order. 
 

We’ll keep a running count the day of your party at the front desk, so only guests that actually attend your party will count towards the total! 

Please ensure that your guest list maintains a 1:5 ratio of adults to children.

Buyouts and Filming

Because we are an educational non-profit, it’s our goal to remain accessible to our community! For that reason, we do not offer museum buyouts or filming opportunities during regular business hours.
